The foundation’s commitment to charity and its impact on the lives of thousands of patients over the past 50 years is truly commendable.
The foundation’s founding members, MW Desiderio “Deriong” Dalisay and its president MW Rizal D. Aportadera, have upheld core values of charity that have been felt through the dedicated volunteer specialists and their efforts in providing medical aid across the country. Additionally, the foundation has played a key role in nurturing and supporting new specialists, helping them succeed in their private practices after starting their careers as volunteers at Maharlika.
Dr. Benedict Valdez has taken on the challenge of furthering the foundation’s mission by implementing adaptive strategies to expand its reach and impact, even amidst challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic. His strategic planning, including his collaboration with Dr. Aportadera, has been instrumental in shaping the foundation into what it is today.
It’s also worth noting the foundation’s influence in the field of trauma education and its contributions to medical training, such as the support provided to the burn unit of SPMC named after Dr. Rizal D. Aportadera, as well as the foundation’s involvement in training paramedics.
The intention behind the foundation’s work is indeed noble, and its success in providing critical medical care and support to those in need is a testament to the impact of its efforts.
