The partnership between Share Me a Dream Foundation Australia and Maharlika Charity Foundation has been a beacon of hope and transformation since its initiation in 2010. Together, they embarked on a noble mission in Surigao City, operating on over 40 cleft patients, a testament to their unwavering dedication to making a difference in the lives of those in need. This collaboration found strong support from the Surigao Rotary Club, uniting hearts and hands for a common cause.
Over the years, the indomitable Ms. Terry Kane and her esteemed colleagues have stood as pillars of strength, working tirelessly in tandem with MCFI Smile Train. Their impact has been felt across regions in Mindanao, including Butuan, Surigao, Tawi-Tawi, Mlang, North Cotabato, Leyte, and the Davao region, bringing healing and hope to those in underserved communities.
In a recent mission from February 15 to 21 in Sibugay, Zamboanga, Share Me a Dream Australia generously endowed 215,000 pesos towards major and minor operations, encompassing laparoscopic cholecystectomy, cleft repairs, dental procedures, hernia and hemorrhoid surgeries, and thyroidectomies. The outcome of these operations is truly remarkable:
- 11 laparoscopic cholecystectomies
- 19 thyroidectomies
- 6 hernia surgeries
- 1 hemorrhoid operation
- 135 dental procedures
- 35 cleft repairs
In total, 207 operations were successfully conducted, marking a significant milestone in their humanitarian efforts. This initiative stands as a beacon of light, setting new standards for compassionate healthcare outreach in partnership with the benevolent hearts of Share Me a Dream Foundation Australia and the Rotary Club of Bentley Moorabbin.
Special recognition is due to Ms. Terry Kane, whose unwavering perseverance in seeking donors for this noble cause has been instrumental in bringing life-changing surgeries to those in need. Together, they have not only transformed lives but also inspired a ripple effect of kindness and compassion that resonates far and wide.
