MCFI recently had the opportunity to visit San Francisco, Pagadian, where we met with Lt. Col. Benecio Adona, MD, to discuss the exciting possibility of conducting a province-wide mission in Pagadian. This meeting was an important step in our ongoing commitment to serve the community and enhance healthcare access in the region.
Our collaboration with Dr. Adona dates back over a decade, reflecting a strong and enduring partnership. We began our work together in Ozamis, where Dr. Adona served as the Chief of Hospital. His dedication to improving healthcare led him to establish ambulatory and infirmary services in Ozamis, and we have been fortunate to coordinate closely with him on various missions since then. His expertise and leadership have been invaluable as we explore further opportunities for outreach.
We are also pleased to have Dr. Floresto Floirendo, a general surgeon, joining us in organizing this mission. Dr. Floirendo’s skills and experience will be instrumental in ensuring that we provide comprehensive medical services during our outreach efforts. His collaboration with Dr. Adona will strengthen our team and enhance our ability to meet the healthcare needs of the community.
Additionally, we had productive discussions with the local government unit to ensure that our mission aligns with the needs of the community. The commitment of both the Adona couple, who are high-ranking reservists in the Philippine Army, and the local government leaders underscores the collaborative spirit essential for successful missions.
We are excited to announce that the mission in Pagadian is scheduled for October 20-25, 2025. This upcoming event presents a valuable opportunity to make a significant impact on the health and well-being of the local population.
Since our partnership began in 2005, we have achieved significant milestones together, providing medical services and support to underserved populations. We are particularly grateful for the support of the Masonic fraternity, which has expressed interest in assisting with the upcoming mission in Pagadian. Their involvement will enhance our capacity to deliver comprehensive healthcare services and foster community engagement.
As we move forward, we are eager to prepare for the mission and are confident that, together with our partners, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of the people we serve. We look forward to continuing our collaboration and keeping everyone updated on our progress.
