Medical Mission for Children: A Partnership for Change
Since its inception in 1991, the Medical Mission for Children (MMC) has been a leader in providing surgical care to children globally, driven by a commitment to humanitarian service among dedicated surgeons. We are proud to announce a partnership with the Maharlika Charity Foundation, Inc. (MCFI), established in 1972, to enhance our efforts in addressing cleft cases and improving child nutrition in Mindanao and the Visayas.
Two Noble Organizations Uniting for a Common Cause
The collaboration between MMC and MCFI represents a powerful alliance aimed at effectively addressing the urgent health needs of children in these regions. Dr. Ben Valdez, President of MCFI, recently met with the officers of MMC to discuss our upcoming missions in the Philippines. This partnership will focus on providing logistical support to bring essential hospital services directly to the communities in Mindanao and the Visayas.
Key Initiatives:
Children’s Missions:
We anticipate an increased number of children’s health missions, focusing on cleft palate surgeries and other critical interventions.
Thyroid Surgery Programs:
Our partnership will also include initiatives to conduct thyroid surgeries in Mindanao, addressing a significant health concern in the region.
Clubfoot Centers and Referrals:
MCFI is in the process of establishing clubfoot centers, which will serve as vital referral points for children in need of specialized care. This initiative will help augment our mission to deliver comprehensive healthcare to affected children.
Collaboration with MPHI:
MCFI has entered into an agreement with MPHI, known for being one of the largest conglomerates of private hospitals in the Philippines. This partnership will enable us to leverage resources and improve the delivery of healthcare services across our target regions.
